Born in El Salvador in 1982, José Ángel embarked on a life-changing journey at the tender age of nine when he, along with his sister and mother, moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in the United States. Growing up in the Zion Church, where his mother, Reverend Silvia Morales, was ordained as a pastor in 2012, José found himself deeply ingrained in the fabric of the church community. His dedication and passion for serving Christ led him to play a pivotal role in nurturing and strengthening the faith of children, teens, young adults, and adults alike.
In 2019, during his second missionary trip, José felt a profound calling to the missionary field and set his heart on living in Senegal, Africa. This decision began a transitional period in his life, where his faith was rigorously tested, offering him a divine perspective on his life, finances, and ministry.
By 2022, José became a cherished member of the Roca de Refugio community, under the pastoral care of Reverend Guillermo and Brenda Palacios, who have provided unwavering support for his missionary endeavors. June 2022 marked the start of a new chapter as he embarked on his journey to a new continent, ready to embrace new experiences and, above all, love whatever God placed in his hands. After 18 months of tireless effort and divine guidance, José witnessed the construction of a church in Kaolack, Senegal.
Through his nonprofit organization, Vivid Passion, José aims to reach out, embrace, and love missions like God loves us all. His ministry can be succinctly encapsulated in the words, “Here I am, send me.”
